Purpose:
Friendship,
fun, education and adventure through events, activities and a friendly social
atmosphere are the goal of Seattle’s Sleepless Singles! We offer those in the
50+ age group a welcoming environment
to explore their interests with others who also enjoy them.
History of Seattle’s
Sleepless Singles:
The 1993 movie “Sleepless in
Seattle” inspired a well-known Seattle columnist, Erik Lacitis, to write a
series in the Seattle Times about being single in Seattle. This generated an overwhelming response, by
single people looking for new ways of getting together. Our first major event was a dance called
“Solo No More in 1994” with 1,000 singles attending. Seattle’s Sleepless has since become one of
the strongest and most successful non-profit singles organization in the
Seattle area.
